Lifehack after lifehack. Endless how to's and do-this-not-that lists. Podcasts, vlogs, blogs (including this one!), and advice (actually this Marie Forleo vid is pretty cool!) Bestsellers, recommendations, online courses.
We are all trying to find the next best thing to make us feel better/stronger/faster.
So when we come across something that seems appealing, we try it. And it may work for a little bit.
More often than not we'll get bored or tired of it, and we go on looking for the next thing and try that for a while, and then so on and so on until infinity I suppose.
Then we're left sort of in this middle ground of deflated excitement, and unfulfilled potential.
Because the only thing that is missing from the whole quest for that something that will make us feel the way we want to feel is...
Yup. I know, I know this is nothing new here. But if you're anything like me, you've probably struggled with staying consistent at some point in your life.
I decided to change that recently. I committed to stay consistent.
There's one thing I do consistently (see what I did there?) to keep me on track when I don't want to do whatever it is I'm set out to do.
I remind myself WHY I'm doing it.
If I hadn't experienced the remarkable results of consistency, I wouldn't have a driving force to compel me to keep doing what I'm doing, but then again it's through my consistency I was able to reach those results in the first place.
A mind f*ck I know!
